Recruit followers and complete a secret agenda in CULTivate. Each player leads a different cult, filling a personal compound with follower meeples whose types and positions help satisfy the character's objectives. Followers also bring individual skills that can unlock useful powers, so the composition of the compound matters as much as its total population.
Rival leaders are pursuing agendas of their own and can interfere directly. Sabotage can disrupt a carefully arranged group, while unprotected followers may be converted and drawn into another compound. Gaining power too visibly also attracts unwanted attention, creating the possibility of an undercover investigation that can undermine an otherwise successful plan.
The game combines pattern building with take that card play and a deliberately tongue in cheek theme. Players must decide when to improve their own compound, when to defend vulnerable recruits and when an opponent has become dangerous enough to target. Distinct character agenda mats create different priorities, while the large collection of wooden follower meeples makes the developing compounds easy to read across the table.
