Vantage
Vantage is an open-world, co-operative adventure game that
features an entire planet to explore, with players communicating
while scattered across the world. With nearly eight hundred
interconnected locations on four hundred cards and over nine
hundred other discoverable cards, the world is your sandbox. You
begin each game of Vantage on an intergalactic vessel heading
towards an uncharted planet. After crashing far from your
companions, you have complete freedom as to how you explore,
discover, and interact with the planet. You view your location
from a first-person perspective, and you can communicate with and
support other players, but you are separated by vast distances,
so only you can see your current location. You have complete
freedom in how you explore, discover, and interact with the
planet. In addition to a mission victory, a destiny victory, or
an epic victory (completing both the mission and a destiny), you
may define success in Vantage through anything you pursue and
achieve. Vantage is not a campaign game. Each game is a
standalone experience; you bring to future sessions only what
you've learned about the world. It is completely self-contained
with no expansions just a few accessories like metal coins.
Designed by Jamey Stegmaier Illustrated by Valentina Filic, Sören
Meding, and Emilien Rotival
Features: Cooperative: You view your location from a first-person
perspective, and you can communicate with and support other
players, but you are separated by vast distances, so only you can
see your current location. You have complete freedom in how you
explore, discover, and interact with the planet.,Inspired by
Breath of the Wild: Designer Jamey Stegmaier (Scythe) was
inspired by Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and over the course of 8
years, designed this roguelike game of exploration, discovery,
and adventure.,Actions Do Not Fail: At each location, there are
seven different options that you have for actions - you can move,
look, engage, help, take, or overpower things that you see on the
card in front of you, or you can choose to leave that location.
Decisions will cost you, and you won't know how much until you
make them, but there are no failed action attempts at locations.
You get to achieve what you set out to do at that location, and
your teammates will be able to help you make those choices cost a
little less sometimes.,Thematically Designed Mechanisms: Each
action option on the location card you face has you interacting
with that location in a way that makes sense. The artwork is
intrinsically designed to show you what is available to you. If
you can see it on the card, you have the ability to interact with
it in different ways.,For families, solo gamers, and game groups
alike: This cooperative, exploration strategy game for 1-5
players has a 120-180 minute playing time with only a 2 minute
setup time. Great game for couples, solo gamers, 2 players,
family, and friends.,Endless Replayability: With more than 800
interconnected locations and over 900 other discoverable cards,
the world is your sandbox, and the likelihood of seeing the same
location again is very slim. Each location also has 6 different
action choices on it, so even if you do return to the same
location, you can interact with that location in a different
way.,Beautifully Illustrated: Gorgeous art and design allowing
for complete exploration of the planet - you can eventually
circle back to the same place if you choose to do so. Illustrated
by Valentina Filic, Sören Meding (Pulsar 2849), and Emilien
Rotival (Ancient Knowledge).,Non-Campaign: Each game of Vantage
begins in the same way - crashing onto the planet via escape pod,
but each game will have a different mission, you'll land on a
different location, and you do not need any prior knowledge of
the planet to succeed in your mission or destiny. Vantage is not
a campaign game. Each game is a standalone experience; you bring
to future sessions only what you've learned about the world. It
is completely self-contained with no expansions " just a few
accessories like metal coins. Vantage feels like a vast, choose
your own adventure style game.,Remote Play: If you have Vantage,
you can play remotely with anyone else who also has the game.
Only audio is necessary (in fact, it's more thematic that way).
There's certain information about other players that's helpful to
have so you can smoothly cooperate while playing remotely, so it
is helpful if players are familiar with the game.,Solo Play: Has
a wonderful option for adventuring on your own. Solitaire play
mimics playing with a group, but without the ability to lean on
teammates for support, so it becomes a different type of
challenge.
