Ofrenda is a competitive card-placement game for 1–4 players in which you must draft and carefully arrange the portraits of your late relatives on your player boards. Fulfil their wishes, making sure to seat them next to their dearest cousin or far from the food they like least. As your altar starts to fill up, however, it might become difficult to keep everybody happy!
Build a colourful altar and honour the memory of loved ones in Ofrenda, a thoughtful card placement game inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead. Over twelve rounds, each player fills a personal ofrenda with family portraits, candles and marigolds while trying to create the most meaningful arrangement.
Portrait and candle cards are chosen from a shared display. The leftmost option is free, but reaching farther across the row costs marigolds that remain behind for a later player to collect. After drafting, a portrait can be placed on the altar or discarded for more marigolds, creating a careful tradeoff between immediate flexibility and the limited spaces available for scoring.
Every portrait has a condition based on its neighbours, and completed conditions let the card be lit for points. Candles look across the wider altar for particular sets or patterns, while special gold spaces can double a successful portrait's value. The game also includes solo play against Abuela, who removes choices from the shared display and keeps the spatial puzzle moving.
